Caledonian clouds

by Tam Craven

We climbed to the top of Ben Lomond

And stepped on to a passing cloud

Then started to sing Caledonia

And by God! We all felt so proud

We drifted all over the world

Singing the songs of days gone by

Remembering the ones who had left

Who were far too strong too cry

All across this beautiful planet

The Flowers of Scotland still spread

And keep touching the hearts of many

And there's still so much to be said

And people are just like clouds

They keep drifting all over the place

But clouds don't have an agenda

They're not part of our human race

And as the clouds drift on and on

There's some that are not silver lined

But we all haste ye back tae Caledonia

To the land we cannot leave behind
