My GGgrandmother Elizabeth Fimmerton RANKIN was born in July, 1813, in Kirkintilloch. She married Edward Tibbenham (recorded as "Tubnum") in Glasgow in 1834, and moved to Norfolk, where she died in 1895.Her parents were John RANKIN (b."about 1779 in Kirkin Hilloch" -- Kirkintilloch, surely?)and Anne MILLER (b. "about 1783 in New Monkland"). To this point the record is fairly definite, but I'm lost in going further back -- there were SO many Rankins and Millers in the area in the 1700's. Any help at all will be very gratefully received, particularly as this is the only branch of my tree originating in Scotland. Bruce Marsh (Madison, Wisconsin; formerly New Zealand)
