Attempting to determine the parents and birthplace of Alexander Marr b. 1748-'49, Aberdeenshire. He enlisted with James MacPherson's 42nd. Regiment of Foot, Glasgow 1775, served throughout the American Revolutionary War, discharged in Halifax, Nova Scotia 1783. He settled in Kings Co., New Brunswick where he died 1829. I would appreciate hearing from anyone researching the 18th century Marr families, Aberdeenshire.
